If You Think We Have Problems...

Almost all CPOs would agree that there are definitely "lackings" within administration. It is frustrating to see the media refer to the "Green Wall of Silence" when we know that a lot of that code of silence crap refers to the higher ups in administration who are busy covering their butts when something goes wrong. Unfortunately the media doesn't generally see the two distinct parties involved within the department and usually lumps us all in together.

New light has been shed into the investigation of the killing of Officer Gonzalez at Chino - and it is shining brightly on CIM's administrative department for all the world to see. (See article: Stab-resistant Vest Moved, Prior Incident Recovered - Update: Manuel Gonzalez Death Investigation)

If this proof is "proof" as the lawyers for the Gonzalez family have revealed, then CIM is in for some deeper investigation than originally thought. A missing vest that was intended for C/O Gonzalez... an official document/memo stating that the associate warden had moved said vest from storage the day after C/O Gonzalez's death... and evidence of a prior incident with the inmate who is alleged to have killed C/O Gonzalez with death threats against another officer just a few weeks prior to the stabbing...

These findings raise more questions rather than provide answers for the original investigation that was launched into Officer Gonzalez's death. As much as we would hate to think that the administration of an institution was partially responsible for the death of an officer, the evidence mounting forces us to consider that such a possibility exists.

More information will be provided on CCPOAIronwood.com and any media reports or statements from the Gonzalez family attorneys will be posted on the website as well. Currently officials for the CIM institution have replied with a pat "no comment" answer as they complete their investigation into the incident. Hopefully more information will be revealed in the coming weeks.
